1 – YOU WILL FEEL BETTER
Without having all that meat rotting in your stomach, or having your poor body deal with the acid that leaks from animal proteins into your body, or just having heavy flesh weighing you down you will find yourself with a new burst of energy that you didn’t think possible. You will be lighter on your feet and have a spring in your step, free from indigestion and other ailments that meat and processed foods can cause.
2 – YOU WILL LOOK BETTER
Find me a person in the public eye that looks great for their age, someone that looks vital and glows, chances are they will be a long-time vegetarian or plant-eater. The palid greyness of someone who is overfed yet undernourished; or the bright red blotchiness of someone who’s heart is about to burst will soon be replaced by a healthy glow atop smooth, soft skin.
3 – YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT
There aren’t many calories in plants and what does go into you gets digested very easily with little waste. If you got an average plate of PBMFing food vs an average plate of “normal” food and the latter will be far more calorie dense, ladened with salt, sugar and fat. You won’t even need to try and lose weight, it will just happen.
4 – IT IS CHEAPER THAN YOU THINK
Veggies aren’t expensive. Legumes aren’t expensive. Beans aren’t expensive. Sure, you can spend a ton of money if you want, but you can also eat plant-based on a very tight budget. Plus, you can cut your supplement bill in half as your body won’t need topping up with the nutrients it misses with most western diets.
5 – IT IS ETHICAL
If you won’t do it for yourself, how about doing it for the animals? Do they really need to suffer just so you can eat a portion of them? Every egg you eat has a male chick twin who was gassed or minced to death live shortly after birth. Every pint of milk tells the tale of an ever-pregnant cow whose calf is taken shortly after birth so she constantly lactates until she is of no more use and becomes dog food. Every slice of ham once had a mother who spent her whole life in a cage so small she could only lay on her side. Do they really deserve that life?
6 – IT IS ECOLOGICAL
Producing a pound of beef uses many times more of the earth’s resources than producing a pound of grain. The meat industry is heavily subsidised. Without that subsidisation, it would collapse. There are too many people on the planet wanting too much meat. The simple fact is, there isn’t going to be enough room soon to feed all those people. If the land currently devoted to grazing cattle was turned back into land that could produce plant-based food, there need not be a single starving person left on planet earth. And don’t forget all that methane burning a whole in the ozone layer!
7 – LIVE GUILT-FREE
Most people with a conscience feel bad if they think about where their meat has come from. We rarely dwell on it because it is unpleasant to think of ourselves – people who are fantastic in every other way – as people who could contribute to pain and suffering. Ditch the animal products and feel a weight lifted.
8 – GREATLY REDUCE YOUR RISK OF ALL CANCERS
Studies show time and time again the link between eating meat and almost every type of cancer. Did you know that, during WW2, when the Nazi’s occupied Norway, they commandered all of the meat for themselves? Coincindentally, during that time the rate of all types of cancers among native Norweigians dropped to extremely low levels. Once liberation occurred and the people of Norway could eat meat again, those cancer rates shot up to their previous levels – and beyond – as people overstuffed on the foods they had missed. Just look at all the countries with low rates of cancer and study their diets. Every single time they eat lots of plant-based foods and very little meat.
9 – LIVE LONGER, BETTER
Chances are, if you are on a plant-based diet, you will live many years longer than if you stuck with a regular western diet. Not only that, you will most likely suffer less from illnesses and ailments associated with old age. Dementia, arthritis, diabetes, cancer, heart disease – all are proven to be treatable with a plant-based diet.
10 – YOU WILL JOIN A FAST-GROWING MOVEMENT
Have you noticed just how much talk there is of plant-based or vegan diets lately? Seems every magazine and newspaper is picking up on the trend.
