Shortly before becoming a PBMF, we watched “Fat, Sick And Nearly Dead” on Netflix; a documentary about an aussie bloke who was, well, fat, sick and nearly dead who resolved to drink only DIY juices for 60 days to see what would happen. As it was, he was entirely cured of his various ailments plus lost lots of weight. Although I am fortunate enough to not be fat, sick nor nearly dead (I hope), I did like the idea of juicing. So, after a bit of investigation, we invested in a Sage juicer (centrifugal juicer with a 1500rpm motor) and got busy with the fruit and veg.
It has been a very hit and miss process, to say the least. Some juices are delicious and the nectar of the Gods. Others taste like the devil’s dick cheese. Part of the reason for this is my refusal to follow any recipe. The other is that our juices are often made up of what we find in the reduced section of supermarkets, so ingredients are random and maybe not at their freshest.
You may be infinitely more sensible than I and quite keen on following recipes. So I figured that I’d stick the recipe for the week’s best juice in a weekly posting. May they cure your various ailments!
- Apples x 3
- Cucumber half
Sweet thanks to the mango and apples with a slight tartness from the pineapple and freshness from the cucumber.
Digestion, water-loss and energy.
